Nearest train station: Brighton (Southern Trains)
National Express/Megabus/bus dropoff point ridiculously close
Travel information: About 50 minutes by train from London Victoria
General info:
We have a fantastic venue, right on the seafront, an amazing hotel by the Palace Pier
It's a contrast to the low-key activisty venue of last year - although it was lovely, community based and very welcoming, it was clear that we needed a larger venue to accommodate all of you lovely bisexuals and SOFAs (Significant Others, Friends and Allies).
Workshops planned include:
Bisexuality? Wossat then?
You're only as young as the bi you feel? Bisexuality through the ages - from student to pensioner
A user guide to your own body - gender, body image, disbility, health stuff, and safety (and like sex obviously) - with added shiny things.
Meet the bigwigs (this is VERY exciting) YOUR chance to pin down prominent members of organisations such as the police force, healthcare and council
Good disabled access, children welcome to the daytime social space (with a responsible adult)
Community fair, and craft space facilitated by the esteemed craft supremo <lj site="livejournal.com" user="artremis">
A glittering array of DJs to entertain your ears and beguile your body, a bar, as well as all-important quiet space.
all this, and as much cake as you can shake a gaggle of bisexuals at (particularly if you bring some as well!)
(disclaimer, workshop names invented by myself on a whim, as they await more serious (promising?!) titles!)
